Solution to no on screen keyboard with Windows 7 Media Center

Having trouble seeing the on screen keyboard to allow you to enter text?

If so, open registry editor and change the following key to "1".

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\MCE.PerUserSettings\showOskOnKeyboardEnter

Restart Media Center and now when clicking "OK" the on screen keyboard should pop up.

A Microsoft made remote must send an additional signal when clicking the "OK" button. Non Microsoft remotes, like my Emprex 3009URF, must just send the enter key. This registry key simply makes the on screen keyboard when clicking the enter key too.
